Ode to Red Shoes

"Put on your red shoes and dance the blues" I was listening David Bowie singing on the radio that night and I couldn't help wondering: why red? Is it because it's the colour of passion that makes David Bowie wanna dance? Are the same shoes Kate Bush should wear in case to dance like Diva do? Is it the red colour of the shoes and dress the woman by the news-stand wore and caught Tom's Waits attention? Why do angels wanna wear Elvis Costello red shoes? So many songs about that unique colour for shoes, even movies. And then I remembered my pair of red, almost ruby, patent leather shoes I own. I took them out of the box and wore them. I put my legs up in the air and just staring at the shoes. And then I realised why red... I won't tell you. You will find out wearing your own pair!
